My cup runneth over

This past weekend Noah and I attended some Easter Eggs hunts. I used to love Easter egg hunts when i was little. One time when i was on a hunt (I was about Noah's age) I gathered up lots of eggs in my basket. When the hunt was over there was a kid who didn't get many eggs so I gave them some of mine. A few weeks later in school, i had to write a paper for a writing contest on something nice that I did, and I wrote about sharing my Easter eggs. I actually won the contest and won a huge Care Bear stuffed animal. I hadn't thought about that in years until this weekend when i took Noah to the hunt. First of all, I would like to say that Egg hunts should no longer be called "Hunts". It used to be that you would have to HUNT for your eggs by looking under logs, up in trees, under pine straw and patches of grass. Not anymore!! Parks now just throw eggs onto the soccer fields and it becomes a race who can get lots of eggs without killing the other kids. The park we went to was so unorganized in trying to keep the kids off the field until it was time to start the egg hunt/race and one kid went running out on the field early so all the other kids thought it was time to start, so they all went running out too. In about 3 minutes, ALL the eggs were picked up off the field and the actual start wasn't supposed to happen for another 15 minutes. The kids had no idea what was happening and that they were early..it was the adults (or lack of) on the field that couldn't keep control. Ironically, they wouldn't let parents on the field so we had no way of telling our kids how many more minutes until the race started. Well, as our kids were done with the race (early) with baskets filled, other kids were just showing up thinking they had 15 minutes until it started. Noah, all on his own, realized what had happened and asked me why that one kid made all the other kids think it was time to start. I tried to explain it was an accident but Noah could see the look of disappointment on the kids' faces who were just showing up and Noah started giving his eggs away to those who missed the race! All on his own!!! When i saw what he was doing, my eyes filled with tears! I was so proud!! He has such a huge and loving heart! He said "mom, these kids didn't get any eggs, and I am so fast that I got lots. I will give them some". I felt like the grinch when his heart grew 3 sizes because my heart was just bursting out of my chest with joy for my child. When we got to the car, I told Noah how proud I was of him! It's so great to have moments like these! I reminded Noah that THAT is what Easter is about...the Resurrection of our Lord and living that out each and every day! I love this kid so much and he makes me so proud to be his mom!! My cup runneth over with love!!!

That gave me goose bumps.
More people (adults and kids) need to take lessons from Noah.
What a blessing you have.
Thanks for sharing.
