One of the greatest memories of growing up in my crazy family was the dance parties we would have! They were always spontaneous and they were always when we were with my Aunt Nancy and Uncle Sandy. They usually consisted of pure craziness, great music, and laughter! Sometimes we would pick out a song, find whatever costumes were in the closet nearby and just rock out! Whenever I think of these dance parties, I can't help but think of my Uncle Sandy in his sunglasses rocking out to the Blues Brothers! They were so much fun!
The legend lives on in my family because quite often Noah and I will break out into a dance party! Tonight was just that! Allen is away on retreat and Noah, Chewy, and I were chilling at home, watching a movie curled up on the couch. The credits started rolling and I told Noah it was bedtime (since it was already an hour past bedtime) but something wonderful came on with the credits...Ice Ice Baby! Noah was quite impressed I knew all the words (okay, so was i). Noah started showing me his dance moves and I couldn't just stand there and watch, so I joined in. For the next hour and a half, Noah and I busted out moves to Marky Marky and the Funky Bunch, Michael Jackson, M.C. Hammer, Bon Jovi, and other various artists of my childhood. I think Noah agrees with me when i say "they just don't make music like they used to". Noah and I were both dripping in sweat at the end of our party! i LOVE nights like this!!! I LOVE that my child is so much fun!!! THESE are the nights I will remember forever and I hope Noah does too!!! There is something so sweet about dancing like a fool in your own living room with the ones you love most in the world!!! I seriously have the best life a person could ask for!!!
