Today was a great day! I feel kind of funny saying that about Good Friday but it really was. We have been having some amazing weather the past few days. I really love winter but gosh, I am so ready for spring and summer after a small taste of this beautiful weather. So today Noah and I spent a good amount of time at the park. We stopped by the store on the way to the park to pick up a loaf of bread. We were at the same park yesterday and noticed the pond with TONS of fish and ducks and thought it would be fun to feed them. We went on a "nature hike", which really was just walking on the jogging trail, and of course Noah had to swing. That kid would spend the whole time on the swings if i didn't make him play on everything else. Then we headed to church for the live stations of the cross. They were AMAZING!!! The Hispanic community puts them on every Good Friday and seriously, they do an amazing job. I wish i had brought my camera but i knew that i would end up having to hold Noah so I went empty handed. It was perfect weather! The sun was beating down and Noah and I really enjoyed walking along side of "Jesus" as he carried his cross through the parking lot from station to station. The whole production lasted 2 hours. Noah and I were covered in sweat by the time we got to the final station (well, the final 4 stations since they were all up on the same hill). Noah pooped out at station 8 so i carried him for 2. i didn't blame him, we had been running a lot at the park and it was HOT walking on the black pavement at church. I was so impressed with Noah. He was so interested in watching the stations and he was asking so many questions. Because the people involved did such a great job, I kept reminding Noah that it was all a performance. He kept asking if that man was really Jesus, if the blood on Jesus was real, if the soldiers were really whipping Jesus. I am really glad we went.
I hope you all had a good Good Friday.
