2 songs

2 songs...hmmm. okay, so this one is hard. I am supposed to pick only 2 songs out of all the songs that have ever been recorded? hmmmmmmm. This is hard because songs speak to me in a weird way... they always have. Different songs have spoken volumes to me during different times in my life. So I am going to pick 2 songs that speak to me TODAY!

1. The first song is: How Can I Keep From Singing? (The rock version of it, not the old school church choir version). I haven't heard this song in years but it came on while riding in Allen's car today on some mix he has and it spoke to me. It was what i needed to hear.

Stanza 1:

My life flows on in endless song;

Above earth’s lamentation

I hear the sweet though far off hymn

That hails a new creation:

Through all the tumult and the strife

I hear the music ringing;

It finds an echo in my soul—

How can I keep from singing?

Stanza 2:

What though my joys and comforts die?

The Lord my Savior liveth;

What though the darkness gather round!

Songs in the night He giveth:

No storm can shake my inmost calm

While to that refuge clinging;

Since Christ is Lord of Heav’n and earth,

How can I keep from singing?

Stanza 3:

I lift mine eyes; the cloud grows thin;

I see the blue above it;

And day by day this pathway smoothes

Since first I learned to love it:

The peace of Christ makes fresh my heart,

A fountain ever springing:

All things are mine since I am His—

How can I keep from singing?

2. The 2nd song is Your Love, Oh Lord by Third Day
This song might be my all time favorite song ever and today is so beautiful outside and even though there is a sadness in the air because of 9/11, it just reminds me that God is bigger than anything and more faithful that we can even imagine.

Your love, oh Lord
Reaches to the heavens
Your faithfulness stretches to the sky
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains
Your justice flows like the ocean's tide
I will lift my voice
To worship You, my King
I will find my strength
In the shadow of your wings
