worse...

As if someone read my post yesterday on how much i hate bloody noses and thought that was the worst thing of the day, someone said "lets show Meghan what she can REALLY hate". Last night at 3am, I hear Noah calling for me so I stumbled in his room to see what was up. I had just gone to bed a few hours before so i was half delirious. He was complaining of a stomach ache. I didn't really think much of it since i thought it was really a "I had a bad dream and am scared but don't want to say that" stomach ache. Being half asleep, I sat down next to him hoping he would fall back to sleep. He kept asking for water, so i got him some and he was still complaining of a stomach ache. As I was sitting there on his bed, in the dark, hoping he would go back to sleep, he sits up and throws up all over!!! Then he throws up again....and again...and again.....all night long!! In between throwing up he was doubled over in pain from stomach cramps. Allen and I went back and forth about what to do, emergency room or wait until our trusted doctors office opens..hmmm, we went back and forth and every time we would make a decision, Noah would get better, then worse, better than worse. Finally around 5am I turned on cartoons hoping it would distract him from the pain so i could see how bad it really was. It worked. Although he kept throwing up, the stomach pains seemed to be less.

We decided to show up at our doctors office without an appointment right when they opened! We got there, along with some other patients, and the lady behind the desk (the ONLY one in the whole office with an attitude every time i go there) told us we were going to have to wait around for an hour before they could fit us in. Noah, as if on cue, immediately starts puking right there in the waiting room with all the other people around (I had a bowl for him to throw up in). We have never been moved into a room so fast!!! The nurse practitioner (whom I LOVE!!!) dropped everything and came in to check Noah out! What service!! She could tell he was dehydrated and if he didn't get some fluids in him fast, and IV was in our near future. Luckily, she gave us a prescription for Zofran (best medicine EVER) and after trying to leave 3 times but having to head to the bathroom for more puking, we finally made it to Publix to get our medicine and some popsicles. Poor Noah was throwing up the whole way in the car and then even threw up the Zofran once. But he finally kept it down and we headed home. He parked himself in my bed (in front of the tv) for the entire day!! He has only been up once to walk downstairs and then he was out of energy so he crawled back into bed. Poor guy!!! It is heartbreaking to see him like this but he is such a trooper!!! I think tomorrow is going to be another -stay in bed all day- day! Pray for my little guy, although he seems to be getting better, his fever keeps rising!! I hope your Wednesday is better than ours!
